Ultimately, this is up to you!

As your tutor, I will always create lessons that I think will benefit you the most, whether that be working on Japanese speaking, writing, reading and/or listening, and also those that I think will be the most fun for you. However, if there’s a skill that you’d like to focus on, or a certain activity that you find the most engaging, I’m always happy to go with that.

In general, however, my lessons are usually a combination of variety of activities. These include doing conversation practice, learning new grammar, dissecting song lyrics, doing translation tasks, reading news articles together and much more.

Lessons are either 55 minutes long or 1 hr 55 minutes long, beginning five minutes past the hour.

55 minute long lessons cost £40 GBP ($51 USD) + 3% transaction fee.

1hr 55 minute lessons cost £80 GBP ($102 USD) + 3% transaction fee.

I live in Tokyo, Japan, and tutor in the following time windows. (All times are given in JST.) Be sure to check what these times convert to in your country.

Mon-Thurs - 7.05am-9am JST, 7.05pm-11pm JST

Fri - 7.05am-10am JST

I’m not available for 1-1 lessons on the weekends. That being said, do check the time difference because, depending on where you live, your Sunday may be my Monday etc. in which case a weekend lesson might be possible.

Yes! Feel free to book lessons one at a time or multiple at a time. Just let me know how many lessons you’d like to book and I’ll send you a custom link to your email. You can contact me through the ‘Contact’ page of this website.

Lessons paid for in bulk cost the same as those paid for individually.

Since the lessons are entirely held online, as long as you have a strong internet connection, it shouldn't matter where in the world you are. The only thing to think about is the time difference and coordinating schedules.

There’s no age limit. My lessons are open to all. I have experience teaching both adults and children.

No need to buy anything for our lessons. I’ll provide all the resources.

That being said, if you’d like to get yourself a textbook anyway, I’d recommend the Genki textbooks.

All lessons are carried out online, over Zoom. Once you book a lesson, I will send you a private link for our lesson.

All resources used during lessons and all homework tasks are uploaded to a private google classroom where you can access, edit and add to them. You can also submit your homework and receive feedback through the google classroom. If you haven’t used the google classroom before, not to worry! It’s very easy to use and I’ll take you through it.
